Rhizome is a regional food research and incubation company from Blue Hill restaurant and Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture. The new joint venture produces methods and products to revitalize regional food systems by tackling food and farming as one subject. Why regional? Because it's the best way to create a healthy, delicious food culture that supports the right kind of farming and the right kind of eating. Our name is inspired by rhizomatic root structures. 
 These structures are literally defined as continuously growing horizontal underground stems. They spread in a non-linear and interconnected way. And when the conditions are right, they 
put out shoots above ground. This powerful ingenious underground system doesn’t put anything out into the world until it’s created the network, the system, to support growth.
